I've been wanting this lense for a lo-o-ong time, and finally got enough wedding money to get one. I shoot weddings and wanted this to do a better job. Coming tomorrow. It certainly helped me with the decision which one to buy. Indeed it is a very expensive lens and therefor I want to bu sure that when I will buy this lens it would be (must be) worth it. But reading your comment I'm almost sure I will gonna buy it. I'm not a professional shooter like you are (I've just visited your site) and the main reason I need the lens is that I want to shoot indoor swimcompetition photos with no flash. So... The f4 is a great lens as well but since I could only afford one my choice was VERY easy. I needed/wanted the f2.8. I am beginning to primarily shoot weddings and forfeiting the extra stop was not an option for me. I have NEVER heard any owner of this lens regret the purchase of the 2.8, however I have a couple friends who chose the f4 for cost reasons and ended up wishing they had bought the 2.8 instead.
